Trimming a video changes how long it plays. Cropping changes how much of the picture you see.
Local trimming keeps your video with you. Choose a supported file and keep this tab open while it exports.
Precise cuts re-encode the selected section. Original resolution is the default; optional size limits keep the same framing. Quality and file size can change. Odd pixel dimensions may be padded by one pixel for MP4 compatibility. HDR and files the browser cannot preview are not supported by this version.
The free video cutter processes your file locally. Your footage is not uploaded to Sharper.video to make the cut.
The editor downloads its processing engine the first time you export. Account services may also connect to the internet. Your video is not sent with those requests.

Yes. Sharper.video does not add a watermark to the trimmed MP4. The cutter does not remove a watermark that is already part of your original video.
Both names describe shortening a video by selecting the part you want to keep. This page handles both tasks: trim the beginning or end, or extract one continuous clip from a longer recording. Cropping the visible picture is a different task.
Yes. Choose an MP4 that your browser can preview, set the start and end, and export the selected section as an MP4 with H.264 video. A standard SDR H.264 source with AAC audio is recommended for broad compatibility.
Compatible MOV videos can be trimmed when your browser can preview them. For iPhone footage, use an SDR file. This version does not support HDR or BT.2020 color; save an SDR copy from your video editor if the file is rejected.
Keep original audio is on by default. When the source contains audio, the first audio track is included in the MP4 as AAC. Turn the switch off to export a silent clip. Muting the preview changes only what you hear while editing, not the export setting. Videos without audio can also be trimmed.
Precise trimming re-encodes the selected section, so the output is not mathematically lossless. The cutter keeps your framing and uses the original resolution by default, apart from at most one pixel of padding on odd dimensions. More export options lets you limit the longest edge to 1920 or 1280 pixels without enlarging smaller videos. Quality and file size may change; preview the result before downloading.
You can enter whole or fractional seconds, or a timestamp such as 00:12.500. The editor accepts up to three decimal places. The exported cut follows the timing of the source video frames, so its final duration may differ slightly from the entered selection.
This version keeps one continuous selected section. It does not remove a middle section and join the remaining ends, or combine multiple files. You can cut and download another section from the same source after completing the first export.
Yes. You can trim a compatible portrait, landscape or square video while keeping its framing and orientation. Cutting changes the duration. Cutting keeps the original framing. Cropping the picture is a separate editing task.
No. The free video cutter reads and processes your file on your device. The editor downloads its processing engine for the first export, and sign-in services may connect to the internet. Your video is not included in those requests. Cloud enhancement is a separate tool that you choose.
The page adapts to mobile screens with touch-friendly timeline handles and editable start and end times. Processing needs a browser with WebAssembly, local workers and support for previewing your video. Keep this tab open while exporting. Under More export options, a smaller resolution can reduce encoding work. Use Save or share video when your browser offers it, or Download MP4. Larger files may need a computer.
This page accepts files up to 250 MB on desktop and 100 MB on mobile. You can choose any continuous section within the video; available memory, resolution and device speed affect whether an export completes. If your device runs out of memory, choose a smaller file, shorten the selection or try a computer.
No. A free use is counted only after a new MP4 has been successfully exported and checked. Failed and cancelled tasks do not use an attempt. Downloading the same completed clip again does not count as another trim.
Yes. After downloading your trimmed MP4, you can choose it in the AI Video Upscaler for a separate enhancement task. You can also explore the Free Video Upscaler. Cutting selects the moment; upscaling is a separate step for the picture quality.
