At Sharper.video, we respect your privacy and believe you should have control over your personal information and creative content.
Sharper.video is operated by Windvale LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States ("Windvale LLC," "we," "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, store, share and protect information when you access sharper.video, free.sharper.video and their related AI video generation services, video editing tools and features (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you acknowledge the information practices described below.
Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to operate our Services, provide AI-powered video tools, maintain account security, process payments and support users.
1.1 Account Information
When you create or use an account, we may collect your email address, account identifier, login or authentication information, language and account preferences, subscription details, credit balances, usage history and information you provide to customer support.
If you sign in using a third-party authentication service, we may receive account information authorized by that service.
1.2 Video, Image and Creative Content
For cloud-based AI features, we process the materials you choose to provide, including:
- Text prompts, creative instructions and generation settings.
- Uploaded photographs, reference images, video frames, videos and included audio.
- AI-generated, edited, extended or enhanced video outputs.
- Processing status, task records and related technical information.
Uploaded media may contain personal information about people who appear or speak in it. This information is processed to deliver the requested AI service and perform any necessary safety checks.
1.3 Payment and Transaction Information
For purchases, we may receive billing information, order and transaction identifiers, payment status, purchase amounts, currency, applicable taxes, subscription information, refund or dispute records and limited payment method details such as card type or masked card information.
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. Complete card numbers and card security codes entered in provider-managed checkout systems are processed by those providers, rather than being required in our application database.
1.4 Technical and Usage Information
When you visit the website, we may collect IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, browser and device details, operating system, pages visited, access times, referring pages, website interactions, performance events, error reports, security logs, cookies and similar identifiers where applicable.
1.5 Support Communications
When you contact our team, we process your message, contact details and any account or technical information you provide to resolve the request.
Privacy of Free Browser-Based Video Tools
Sharper.video offers free video tools that operate locally in supported web browsers. These may include free video upscaling, cutting, cropping, converting, audio extraction and other browser-based editing functions.
When a free tool operates locally, your selected video is processed on your own device and is not uploaded to or stored on Sharper.video servers.
- Original videos remain on your device.
- The editing and export process runs locally in your browser.
- We do not retain server-side copies of your original videos or exported results from those tools.
- You can download the processed results directly to your device.
Temporary files or working data may exist in browser or device memory during processing. Although video content is not uploaded for these local tools, ordinary website data such as access logs, authentication records and security information may still be processed.
This local-processing arrangement applies only to browser-based free tools. Cloud-based AI generation, editing, extension and enhancement require server-side processing, as explained below.
How We Process AI Videos and Uploaded Content
Our cloud-based AI features allow you to create videos from text or images, edit videos, extend footage and upscale or enhance video quality. To complete these requests, prompts and relevant uploaded files may be securely transmitted to our systems and authorized third-party providers.
3.1 AI Video Generation
We process your written prompts, reference images, settings and generated outputs to complete text-to-video and image-to-video requests.
3.2 AI Video Editing and Extension
We process your uploaded source videos and instructions to produce requested scene edits, changes or additional footage.
3.3 AI Video Enhancement and Upscaling
We process uploaded videos and selected resolution or frame-rate settings to provide the requested cloud-based enhancement.
3.4 Storage and Access
Completed videos may be stored in your account and made available in My Videos. They are associated with your account and are not automatically published in a public gallery or made accessible to other users. We do not use your private videos as public promotional examples without your authorization.
3.5 Content Safety and Abuse Prevention
To help prevent misuse and protect users, including minors, we may check prompts and uploaded images or videos submitted to our cloud-based AI features against applicable safety standards and legal requirements. Some content or related information may be transmitted to specialized third-party content moderation providers for automated screening, including checks for suspected sexual exploitation or abuse involving minors and other prohibited or unlawful content. These checks may result in a request being restricted or rejected.
Safety screening of cloud AI requests does not change the local-processing approach of our browser-based free tools described in Section 2. More information about prohibited uses and content restrictions appears in our Terms of Service.
How We Use Personal Information
We use information only for specified business and service purposes, including:
- Providing the website, AI video features and free tools.
- Creating accounts, authenticating sign-ins and managing workspace settings.
- Processing video requests and delivering generated results.
- Administering credits, billing, subscriptions, payments and refunds.
- Responding to support and privacy requests.
- Detecting fraud, preventing abuse and protecting account security.
- Diagnosing errors, improving performance and understanding site functionality.
- Sending important service, billing and account communications.
- Meeting applicable legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell personal information to data brokers or use private uploaded videos for unrelated advertising.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or another jurisdiction requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on the following grounds as appropriate:
- Performance of a contract: Creating accounts, providing requested video tools, processing media, managing paid features and delivering results.
- Legitimate interests: Maintaining security, preventing fraud and abuse, troubleshooting and operating a reliable service, subject to the rights of individuals.
- Legal obligations: Complying with applicable tax, accounting, financial and other legal requirements.
- Consent: Processing that requires your permission, such as certain non-essential cookies or optional communications. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Some information is required to provide specific features, such as an email address for account registration or billing details for a purchase. Where available, supported free browser tools can be used without creating an account.
How We Share Information
We disclose only information reasonably necessary to operate the Services, deliver the features you request, protect the platform or comply with law. Categories of recipients may include:
- Cloud and hosting providers for website hosting, infrastructure, storage and file delivery.
- AI processing providers for video generation, editing, extension and enhancement.
- Content moderation and security providers for safety screening, abuse detection and platform security.
- Payment providers for checkout, billing, subscriptions, taxes, fraud checks, refunds and disputes.
- Authentication and communication providers for sign-in and service messages.
- Professional advisers or legal recipients where necessary for lawful business administration or legal requirements.
Information may be transferred in a lawful business merger, restructuring or sale, subject to applicable privacy protections. Where a payment provider operates as an independent controller or merchant of record, it may process payment information under its own legal responsibilities.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable privacy laws.
Data Storage and Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide the Services or to satisfy legal and legitimate operational requirements.
7.1 Account Information
Account data is generally maintained while your account is active. When you delete your account, we initiate deletion or de-identification of associated information, subject to applicable legal and operational exceptions.
7.2 Uploaded and Generated Videos
Cloud-processed videos may remain in your My Videos workspace until you delete them, close your account or applicable storage limitations require their removal. Deleting a video removes it from your visible account and initiates deletion from active storage.
Temporary files, caches, task records and backup copies may remain for a limited period for technical, security or legal reasons and are then removed or overwritten under applicable retention practices. Service providers may also retain limited information under their security and legal obligations.
7.3 Payments and Technical Records
Transaction records may be retained for applicable tax, accounting, fraud prevention, chargeback and legal requirements. Technical logs and support communications are kept only as reasonably required for their relevant purposes. We periodically review and delete or de-identify information no longer needed.
Deleting Videos and Managing Your Data
8.1 Delete Individual Videos
You can delete AI-generated, edited, extended or enhanced videos using the available controls in My Videos. Deleting a video removes it from your visible workspace and initiates its deletion from active storage, subject to the limited retention exceptions explained above.
Deleting a video does not affect copies you previously downloaded or independently shared outside Sharper.video.
8.2 Delete Your Account
You can request account deletion using the account deletion option or by emailing [email protected]. Deletion initiates the removal of your account access, associated account data and stored content, except information we need to retain for legal obligations, outstanding transactions, fraud prevention or legal claims.
If you have an active paid subscription, address its status through available billing controls or contact support when closing your account.
8.3 Other Privacy Requests
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information associated with your account. We may request reasonable identity verification and respond within applicable legal time periods.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies to support login sessions, website security, preferences and technical performance.
- Essential technologies: Authentication, security, session management and basic website functions.
- Preference technologies: Remembering language and display preferences.
- Analytics technologies: Where enabled, understanding performance and improving the Services.
Where required, we seek consent before using non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies. You can use browser settings and any available website privacy controls to manage cookies. Disabling essential storage may affect features that depend on it.
International Data Transfers
Windvale LLC is registered in the United States. To provide Services to users around the world, we and our authorized service providers may process or store personal information in the United States or other countries with different data protection laws.
Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate international transfer safeguards, which may include standard contractual clauses or other recognized lawful mechanisms. You can request information about applicable safeguards by contacting [email protected].
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion or receive certain information in a portable format.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.
- Opt out of certain uses where provided by law.
- Exercise applicable rights relating to significant automated decisions.
We do not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.
11.1 European Economic Area and United Kingdom
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you can exercise the rights available under those laws, subject to their requirements and exceptions. You may have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can address your concern directly.
11.2 United States Privacy Rights
California and other state residents may have additional rights to know, access, correct, delete or receive information and to opt out of certain uses where those rights apply. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information for unrelated advertising or profiling.
Where an appeal process is required, you may email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy Appeal”. We recognize authorized-agent requests where required by law.
11.3 How to Make a Request
Contact [email protected], describe the request and include the email associated with your Sharper.video account when relevant. We may verify your identity before disclosing or deleting information and respond as required by applicable law.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information and user content from unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, alteration or loss. These include appropriate access controls, secure communications, monitoring and other protections relevant to the Services.
Access is restricted to authorized personnel and providers who need the information for their responsibilities. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. If you suspect unauthorized account access, please contact [email protected].
Children and Privacy
Sharper.video is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without legally required authorization. Higher age requirements and additional protections may apply in certain locations.
If we become aware of information collected from a child contrary to applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise address it. Parents and guardians may contact [email protected] about privacy concerns involving a child.
Automated Processing and AI Systems
We use automated technologies for AI video generation, editing, enhancement, technical operations, platform security and abuse prevention. Automated systems may assess prompts, uploaded media or service usage to deliver requests or identify suspected policy violations.
Processing may result in a video request being restricted or rejected. We do not use automated systems to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about individuals unless permitted by applicable law and subject to applicable safeguards. If you believe a restriction was applied incorrectly, contact our support team.
Third-Party Services
Some features depend on external providers for AI processing, content safety, hosting, payments, security or authentication. Such providers may process data reasonably necessary to perform their tasks. Providers acting as independent controllers may have their own legal obligations and privacy practices.
Links on our website may lead to services outside our control. This Privacy Policy does not govern information independently collected by those websites.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our Services, technology, business operations or legal obligations. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will show when changes are made. Where legally required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before processing requiring it.
